1. Clearing the cache and data of the Gmail application

2. Disabling and then re-enabling the app 

1. After you are on the settings option you need to click on apps option followed by Gmail and then you need to proceed further.

2. Now you have to click on the Uninstall option and then you need to also click on uninstall updates. 

3. In this step to fix the problem of Gmail keeps stopping, you need to open the Play store and then you have to find Gmail. 

4. Install the Gmail app and then after installing it you need to reboot the device you are using.
